Soft bellies and fragile organs

I’ve noticed the way we open and close.

The way we tilt our hearts and our eyes towards the heavens. Soft bellies and fragile organs left exposed. Arms flung open. I’ve noticed how surrender is the same as trust.

And when the light is too bright we come back inside. Eyes closed. Nestling into the familiar softness of our own darkness.

I’ve noticed how the touch of a stranger can be all that we need.

I’ve noticed how we open and close and I think it’s really beautiful.
